Arranging a couple massage from two countries: who books, who pays the deposit

The practical half of a reunion, settled before either of you reaches an airport. This guide covers who does the writing, what the first message needs, whose card pays the deposit and what the confirmation should contain by the time you fly.

While you read

Nothing on this page asks you to decide anything. It can be read and left alone.

One thread, and what a second one costs

The single most common way a booking of this kind goes wrong has nothing to do with dates or money. It is two people writing to the house separately, from two countries, about the same evening. One of you asks about Thursday and one about Friday. One names a woman and one describes a format. Two threads exist, neither knows about the other, and the reply that comes back to each of you is accurate and useless.

So the first decision is procedural and it takes ten seconds: one of you writes, the other does not. Everything after that gets easier. The house is answering one person about one evening, the figures quoted are the figures that apply, and there is one place where the confirmation lives. The thread is the arrangement. Nothing agreed outside it counts, including anything the two of you decided between yourselves at two in the morning.

Which of you should hold it

Not the one who cares more. The one whose phone will work. Three questions settle it. Who arrives in Amsterdam first, and will therefore be the one holding the room number on the day? Who has data that works abroad without a fight? And who is awake at the hours when replies come back, which in practice means the person on the clock closest to central European time?

Usually the same partner answers all three, and that partner writes. If the answers split, the person arriving first should hold it anyway, because the pieces only that person can supply, the room number and the entrance, are the pieces the thread needs latest and most urgently. The other partner reads over a shoulder later, which the next section deals with.

The partner who did not write still has to agree

A booking for two people is arranged on the understanding that both of them know about it and both want it. That is not a policy written to be quoted at anybody; it is the thing the arrangement rests on. The first message is asked to say it plainly in one sentence, and it is checked rather than assumed.

This rules out a whole category of plan that people arriving from another country sometimes have in mind. Arranging the evening as a surprise for a partner who has not been told is not a booking the house will take, and a therapist who works it out on the doorstep will leave before anything starts. Surprise the specifics if you like: the night, the length, the woman you both liked can all be a gift. The existence of the booking cannot be. If one of you is unsure, book one therapist for one guest and leave the other partner out of it entirely.

What a first message from two countries should carry

Eight things, and it can all be typed in under two minutes. The dates you are both in the city, rather than one date, because flexibility across two evenings buys you a much better answer. The later of the two arrival times, with the time zone spelled out. The format: one therapist for the two of you, or a therapist each. The length you have in mind. Two or three names from the roster if you have agreed on some, or a description of what you are after if you have not. The district you will be staying in, even if the room is not booked yet. A line saying both of you know about the booking and want it. And, if you are writing before any of that exists, send it to the one address the house publishes, [email protected].

What you do not need yet is the room number. It is the last thing to arrive and it has a section of its own below.

The deposit: whose card, and when

Half the fee confirms the booking, and on a trip planned from two countries it always applies. Half goes ahead on any booking made more than twenty-four hours before it starts, on every booking with two therapists, on an eight hour block, on a session of three hours or longer, on a room at a Schiphol airport hotel, on a peak date, and on a first booking with the house. Every booking this guide describes meets at least one of those, usually three.

Whose card is entirely your business. The partner holding the thread normally settles it because that partner is the one reading the message when it arrives, and a deposit paid within the hour holds the woman you agreed on. Card first; Revolut, Wise and cryptocurrency for anyone who would rather use them; bank transfer and PayPal are not used. Cash cannot be a deposit for a plain mechanical reason, which is that a deposit is settled before she leaves and cash only changes hands in the room. The amount and the destination appear in the thread after the hour is agreed and on no page of this site.

Euro figures, paid from somewhere that does not use euro

Every figure here is a euro figure, without exception, the ones in the thread and the ones in the profile tables alike. A shared therapist, a therapist each, and a single guest for whichever of you lands early all stand on one ladder, and each extra person on either side of the booking doubles the sum at the same hourly length.

If one of you lives outside the euro, work out the conversion once, at the planning stage, and agree the split then. It removes the one conversation nobody wants to have on a reunion evening. The balance is paid at the door and cash in another major currency is welcome there, with the exact sum in that currency confirmed to you in writing before she sets out, so that nobody is doing arithmetic on a phone at eleven at night.

What comes back, and what to check in it

The confirmation is short and it is worth reading properly rather than glancing at. It names the date, the hour, the length, the format, the full figure and the half already settled. Check three things against what the two of you actually agreed. The format, because one therapist and two therapists are different evenings and different figures, and a booking for two cannot be turned into one at the door. The length, because ninety minutes and two hours read very similarly on a screen at midnight. And the date, which sounds absurd until you remember that one of you may be reading it in a country where it is already tomorrow.

Forward the confirmation to the other partner as it stands. Do not summarise it. A summary is where the format quietly changes.

The room number you do not have yet

Almost every long-distance booking is arranged weeks before anyone knows the room number, and that is fine. The house needs the district at the point of confirming and the exact address, floor and room number before she sets out. Those are two different moments and the gap between them is usually several weeks.

The number goes into the thread on the day, from whichever of you checked in. Add the entrance detail in the same message: a street door that locks at a fixed hour, a lift that wants a keycard, a side entrance that is the only one open in the evening. In a rented flat, say who will be at the door and whether the building needs a code released from inside. These are the details that turn a forty to sixty minute arrival into ninety, and they cost ten seconds to type.

Changing the hour while one of you is in the air

Flights move, and on a two arrival trip they move for one of you while the other is watching a board. The partner holding the thread writes. One change of date is free, with the request more than twenty-four hours ahead and the new date inside fourteen days, and the deposit carries over whole. A change of hour on the same evening is simpler still and is settled in the thread.

If the change comes inside the final day, what the house may keep is read on the notice scale exactly as a cancellation sent at that moment would be, and whatever is not kept travels to the new hour. So write early and write in fragments if you have to. A message saying the second flight is delayed and you do not yet know by how much is worth more than a precise message sent two hours later, because the clock the scale reads is the clock on your first message. The full arithmetic sits on the deposit page.

What is settled at the door

The balance, and nothing else. Half the figure was paid before she set out and the other half is handed over when she arrives, in cash or by the routes already agreed in the thread. There is no running total, nothing added for the journey, and no discussion about the hour.

Everything else about the evening belongs to her. She says what her limits are at the start, in her own words, and they hold for the whole visit. Both of you need to be twenty-one or over and a document can be asked for on the doorstep, read once and handed back with nothing written down. The colder version of all of this is in the terms, and the practical version is on the questions page.

Questions

What this raises

We both wrote to you separately by accident. What happens now?

Nothing is broken, but one of you should say so straight away and name which thread the two of you are keeping. Two threads about one evening produce two sets of accurate answers about different arrangements, and the risk is not confusion so much as a double booking of the same hour. Write a single line in the thread you are keeping saying that the other one should be ignored, and continue from there. Whatever was agreed in the abandoned thread is not carried across automatically, so repeat anything that mattered.

Does the deposit have to come from the same card that pays the balance?

No. The deposit and the balance are separate settlements and nothing connects them. Half goes ahead before she sets out, by card or by Revolut, Wise or cryptocurrency if you prefer, and the remaining half is handed over at the door, in cash if that suits you. On a two country booking these are often paid by two different people and the house has no view on it at all. What the confirmation records is the figure, not whose name is on the payment.

Can I pay the whole fee in advance instead of half?

There is no need and it is not asked for. Half is what confirms a booking and the other half is a doorstep matter, which keeps the arrangement simple on both sides. If you would rather not carry cash on a reunion evening, say so in the thread and the balance can be settled by the routes already used for the deposit, agreed before she sets out. What cannot happen in advance is cash, since a deposit is settled before she leaves and cash only moves in the room.

How late can we give you the room number?

Before she sets out, which in practice means at least an hour before the booked time. The district is enough to confirm a booking weeks ahead; the exact building, floor and room number are day-of information and everyone expects them to arrive late. What does not work is a room number sent while she is already crossing the city, because the forty to sixty minute window starts from a confirmed address. Send it the moment either of you has a key in hand, along with a line about the street door if it locks in the evening.

The two of us are still arguing about one therapist or two. Can we decide later?

You can leave it open in the first message and decide in the thread, but not on the night. The two formats need different numbers of people free for the same hours, so a booking for two therapists is not a booking for one with an extra person added, and it cannot be changed at the door in either direction. Decide at least a day before the booked hour. If the argument is really about money, the second therapist doubles the hourly sum, and ninety minutes with one therapist is where most couples in your position land.

One of us speaks very little English. Does that matter?

For the thread, no: one of you writes and that person handles the arrangement, so only one of you needs to be comfortable in English. For the evening, it matters a little less than people expect. English appears on every profile on the roster and several of the women read and speak others, which each profile lists. If a shared language beyond English would make the evening easier, say which one in the first message and the reply will tell you who is free among the women who have it.

When you are ready

One message carrying the district, the hour and the length is the whole first step.
