Half a Fee and Two Cards

Money is the part of this arrangement that couples in two countries ask about most, and the questions are always practical rather than suspicious. Whose card. Which currency. What happens to it if a flight collapses. Whether paying it early locks the trip in harder than anyone wants.

The half is not held aside

Start with what it is, because the word deposit carries the wrong picture. This is not a security taken and handed back at the end. It is the first half of the fee itself, calculated on the figure in the profile of the therapist the two of you chose, named in writing in the thread once the hour is agreed, and settled before she sets out. The half that remains is handed over at the door.

What it buys is an hour that nothing else can be put into. Once she has agreed to be at a door at half past nine on a Friday in April, that part of her evening is committed, and so in practice are the hours either side of it. The half is what makes that commitment mutual.

When it applies, which on this kind of trip is always

Half goes ahead on any booking made more than twenty-four hours before it starts, which covers every arrangement made before a trip. It also applies to an eight hour block at any start time, to any booking with two therapists whatever its length, to a room at a Schiphol airport hotel, to a session of three hours or more, to a peak date such as King's Day or the stretch between Christmas and New Year, and to a first booking with the house.

One arrangement carries nothing in advance and it will not be yours on a first trip: a returning client asking for an hour or two the same day at a city address, who settles the whole figure when she arrives. Everything a long-distance couple is likely to book meets at least one of the seven, usually three at once.

The fee, halved

An hour for the two of you with one therapist is confirmed by half its fee, and ninety minutes, two hours and three hours follow that rule without exception. For the eight hour block the first half is settled before she leaves. What that half comes to in money is written into the thread once the hour and the woman are agreed, working from the table on her profile.

With a therapist each: an hour is 720 and 360 goes ahead, ninety minutes is 1,080 and 540 goes ahead, two hours is 1,440 and 720 goes ahead, three hours is 2,160 and 1,080 goes ahead, the night is 5,760 and 2,880 goes ahead. For whichever of you lands early and wants an hour alone, a single guest with one therapist is 180 and 90 confirms it.

Two cards, two countries

Whose card is entirely your business and the house has no view on it. In practice the partner holding the thread settles the half, because that partner is the one reading the message when it arrives and a deposit paid promptly holds the woman the two of you agreed on. The balance at the door can come from either of you, or from both, and nothing about the arrangement depends on the two payments matching.

Card first for the half, with Revolut, Wise or cryptocurrency for anyone who would rather use them. PayPal and a bank transfer are both outside the routes this house works with. Cash cannot be a deposit for the plain reason that a deposit is settled before she leaves and cash only changes hands in the room. Euro, and paying from somewhere that is not

Every figure here is in euro without exception, which is the one currency the arrangement is quoted in. If one of you lives outside it, do the conversion once at the planning stage and agree the split then, rather than at eleven at night with two phones and two exchange rates.

The balance at the door can be paid in cash in another major currency, and when it is, the exact sum in that currency is confirmed to you in writing before she sets out. Nobody should be doing arithmetic on a doorstep.

What happens if the trip does not

This is the question behind all the others. More than twenty-four hours before the booked time, a cancellation keeps nothing and the whole half comes back. Inside the final day, with the therapist not yet on her way, half of the deposit is kept as fee already earned and half is repaid. Once she has set out, the deposit stays, unless somebody else takes the released hour, in which case it is repaid in full. If you can show the loss to the house was smaller than the part kept, only that smaller part is kept.

No claim is ever made against either of you beyond the deposit itself. And in most cases the trip does not collapse so much as move, which is the free option: one change of date, with more than a day's notice and a new date inside fourteen days, carries the half across whole.
